Chubby Horse ~ Dale Evans' Buttermilk
Dale Evans, Queen of the West, rode a gorgeous pale dun called Buttermilk in her movies and the Roy Rogers tv series. Hartland made a portrait of Buttermilk from 1955 - 1960 on their "Chubby Horse" mold. He wears an ivory-colored body with brown mane and tail, a molded-on bridle, and painted on martingale loop. Most originally came with pyro lace reins.
This is the full scalloped mane, wavy tail version of the Chubby Horse mold in Tenite. He is Near Mint, marked down solely for small yellow areas where his saddle (no longer with him) had stained his plastic behind each shoulder. Beyond that, his only rub seen is a pinpoint one on the side of his tail and a few pinpoint specks in his plastic. He is really clean, has a beautiful glossy body with matte brown areas, fully intact paint on his bridle and martingale, and even still wears his original, super hard to find, lace reins!
