Morgan Family, Copper Chestnut (sale for charity)
This family of copper chestnut Morgans are made of Tenite (cellulose acetate, like Breyer) with metallic coats and raw plastic manes and tails. Their sooty body shading indicates they are an original Hartland release, made somewhere between 1963 and 1968. During that period, Hartland changed to using styrene, but the exact date of the change is not recorded. Chances are good that these were made early in that time frame. When Durant took over Hartland, they released a similar family from 1970-1973, but those lacked the body shading.
This family is in Excellent condition with some tiny black marks and tiny rubs, the most noticeable of which a mark on the left barrel of the mare. Both the mare and stallion have very slightly bent-in front legs which make them tippy. A warm hair dryer should correct that. The mare also has an uneven face seam, which is rather adorably comical. They all feature beautiful, subtle sooty shading.
This model was donated to our charity account for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, and proceeds from its sale will help the shelter care for dogs and kitties in need. Thanks for your support!
