This big, beautiful horse was made by Steha of Germany, a high-end manufacturer of models from the 1950s - 1980s and have a distinctive mid-Century style.  Many of their models were flocked and some were painted as well.  They can even have wheels in their feet.  These guys were serious - Their wholesale price was three times that of Breyer models!

Because they were made of a lighter plastic and flocked, finding them today in good condition is a real challenge.  We were amazed when this beautiful horse arrived from a consignor.  She is a high-end flocked circus horse with hand-painted dappling, wheeled feet, feathered plumes, and rhinestones on her bridle and breast collar.

This lovely vintage mare is in Excellent condition with some yellowing of the flocking glue as usual for flocked models of this age, and a few pressure creases in the flocking, but she displays well and is such a neat piece to look at.  The tips of her tail are a bit worn and dry, but most of her tail and all of her mane is still silky and shiny.  Her tack is intact with one rhinestone showing a bit of tarnish around the metal rim, but the rest look great.  She features colorful feathers, neatly painted eyes, and working wheels in all four feet.  She is an incredible find for the horse collector who likes the best representation of different brands, ages, and styles, as she's one of Steha's best, and will be a real eye-catcher in your collection!

Size:  Slightly larger than the Breyer Shire, as shown in final photo for reference. (Shire for sale separately.)
