Padré was born in the wilds of Nevada and was rounded up with his herd as a yearling. He was adopted and stood stud until he was seven, when he changed careers and equine history! Given to Patti Gruber, she cultivated the stallion's agility in the field of dressage, culminating with him becoming the first wild-born horse ever to show - and win - at Devon, The US's most prestigious event!
But Padré and Patti didn't just smugly go home and rest.. Her love for him and his fellow Mustangs led her to start Operation Wild Horse, which pairs retired and active-duty military personnel with wild horses. The men and women gentle the wild mustangs, teaching them groundwork and riding skills, so they can more easily find adopters. Padré has also had a children's book written about him, so this handsome bay dun has truly had a huge impact on the horse world!
