2005 Holiday Horse - Andalusian Stallion ~ Della Robbia
This gorgeous, deep blood bay with two low front socks and a star was 2005's Holiday Horse. He is done in Renaissance style and named Della Robbia for an Italian sculptor and painter, Luca Della Robbia, and the term della robbia is now used commonly for any enameled terra cotta similar in style to the pieces made by that artist. The horse is lavishly dressed in scarlet velvet, white fur, gold accents and greenery, and many consider him the most beautiful Holiday Horse made to date. He wears "Seasons Greetings 2005" in gold under his belly.
This fellow is Factory Mint with costume still factory attached! He features lots of magical blue interference paint that gives him a glow in the right light. The only damage seen is the normal aging cracks of the paint on the plastic apples on his saddle.
