It's a little-known fact that America's Queen of the Cowgirls was originally afraid of horses. She was won over, though, when a tv wrangler presented her the opportunity to ride a pale dun gelding called Soda, who was very gentle. Dale changed his name to Buttermilk after a contemporary song, "Old Buttermilk Sky," and the two become true partners, on set and off. Buttermilk, being a true, old-fashioned Quarter Horse, could easily outrun Trigger, so Dale often had to hold him back to allow the show's star to ride out front. Breyer's portrait model was produced as part of their Hollywood Horses Series from 2000-2003.
This fellow is Factory Mint with a few specks in his finish as always. He features a soft brown dorsal stripe, shaded eartips, shading around his eyes, and a super matte finish.
