The sweet Arabian Family by Maureen Love was originally released in this sorrel coat as part of the Arabian Family set from 1973-1991.   The foal is a warm sorrel with an airbrushed bald face and four socks.

In the early 1970s, during the oil embargos, Breyer found white plastic too expensive, so they used mixed-color plastic and painted the model white before applying body colors.  The white basecoat has a chalk-like appearance, hence the name chalkies for this style of models.  This filly is a basecoat chalky, very hard to find these days, since chalkies have more fragile finishes than regular models.  Chalkies in any condition have value and are sought-after by collectors for their scarcity and the bit of Breyer history they embody.

This girl is Near Mint and you'd have a hard time finding one in better condition anywhere!  She is marked down for a pinpoint eartip rub and a couple of pinpoint light rubs that don't go all the way through the paint, along with a couple pinpoint rubs where her socks blend into her body color.  She is unmistakably chalky with her socks, particularly the right rear, showing bright white basecoat paint.  She wears the vintage speckly paint job and unglossed eyes as well.  What a cutie!

Her mom is also chalky and is available here separately until sold.
