One of the world's most famous fictional horses, Black Beauty has captured the hearts and minds of animal lovers everywhere.  This version by Breyer has one right front sock and a diamond-shaped star.  He was made from 1982-1988.

He's a tough one to rate, because he shows no rubs, marks, etc….  Basically, he displays as Mint or Near Mint.  However, he has two small areas on his right side: one on his barrel and the other on his hip, that appear to have been touched up with a slightly shinier paint.  It only shows if the light hits it just right.  His right rear leg also appears to have been adjusted slightly downward to give him better balance.  It does - He stands better than any we've had, but the slight bend in his leg is noticeable.  You could bring it back to original position if you wanted to, using a warm hair dryer, but he stands much better as-is.  He is the one-sock version with a large star and bright whites.

Since this mold is notorious for being tippy, we recommend Museum Putty or a Horse Safety Rack to keep him safely upright.
