britains-ltd-tumbrel-hay-wagon
Britains Ltd Tumbrel Hay Wagon

This is a really neat tipping-cart with a latch that allows the body to dump its load. It is a Tumbrel wagon, designed for carrying loose hay. Originally there would have been a hay ladder tucked through the loops on the wagon's front, extending out over the horse's back, and another hay ladder attached to the back, allowing more hay to be piled on. Wagon is made of metal with attached, curved shafts. It is scaled approximately Stablemate scale, but since the shafts are not flexible, it would require a relatively narrow model (I think a Walking Thoroughbred might fit).

This is a vintage piece, dating to probably the mid-20th Century. As such, it may contain lead or have lead paint, so it is being sold for adult display only. Lead is harmful if ingested, so keep it away from children who might chew on it or eat any paint chips that may come off. It's a lovely vintage display piece.

[Photo showing Breyer draft horse is for size reference only. Horse is not included.]

Size: Approx 1:32 scale.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0714/1551/files/5-wagonbritainstumbrelhaywagon2026-02-05_1.jpg?v=1788552690
