"Buckshot, Famous Spanish Barb" is the full name of this fellow's inaugural release. He was one of the Artist Series, a short series of horses released by Breyer to introduce new sculptors for the first time (not the first new sculptors, but the first time they gave the sculptors any attention), as Chris Hess was retiring. This dynamic sculpt was created by Bob Scriver, and his initial release as Buckshot has him in just as dynamic a coat color: He is alternately considered blue roan or grey Appaloosa, but also wears leg barring and a grey dorsal stripe. He was only available in 1985-1988.
This fellow is in Excellent condition and that's great considering how few of these are! They are very tippy, so most we've seen are covered with rubs… Not this guy! The only rubs we see are on his hooves! He has a rub on the toe of his left front hoof and a couple of other pinpoint hoof rubs. He also has two specks of mane paint under his neck and shows moderate age yellowing, so he'd love someone to show him the love of sunbathing him for a couple of weeks to brighten back up. He will reward you with his incredible paint job: He wears an airbrushed dorsal stripe, tons of grey Appy spots, and subtle but wide leg barring on his forelegs. He's a lovely example of this release - Won't you sunbathe him and let him be his best again? He requires a prop to stand, like all on this mold. We also recommend a Horse Safety Rack to help keep him safely upright.
