Wing Commander is a top sire of champion American Saddlebreds.  He won all but two classes in which he was entered as a 3 & 4-year-old, and the two he didn't win he placed second!  After that he went undefeated for seven years.  He won his first Five-Gaited World Championship in 1948 as a five-year-old, and went on to win 6 in total!  Wing Commander retired to Castleton Farm in Kentucky after his amazing career.  He lived to be 26 years old and can be found in many top Saddlebred pedigrees today.  Kentucky Historical Marker #1470 in Fayette County is dedicated to Wing Commander and his achievements.

Breyer produced a portrait of Wing Commander on their Five Gaiter mold from 1988-1990.  He wears the horse's chocolate chestnut coat, four socks and thin stripe.

This fellow is still attached in his box.  His box is in rough shape, but it still protects him well.

Shipping Information

We maintain an Honest Shipping Policy:  We always try to save you money on shipping and only charge what is needed to get your box to you.  We often cut boxes down to fit your order, which can save you money... If we find we can ship for less than our website charges you for shipping, we will automatically refund the difference when we print your shipping label.  You will never overpay when ordering from us!

Due to COVID, we are currently packing and shipping USPS on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  UPS requires a day's lead time to pick up, so UPS orders ship on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (They don't pick up on Saturday, so UPS orders placed after cutoff on Wednesday will ship the following Monday.)
