This is a superb set commemorating the first three fillies to win the Kentucky Derby! It's a rare occurrence, so it's one to celebrate. The Derby began in 1875, but the first filly to win was Regret in 1915. It wasn't until 1980 that the second filly Genuine Risk won. The third became Winning Colors, a pretty grey, in 1988.
QVC celebrated these three athletic girls with this Special Run set only offered in 2002. This is an extremely hard-to-find set and well worth adding to your collection! They almost never come up for sale, even individually, so finding the entire set with COA is a treasure indeed!
Regret (Kelso mold) is Factory Mint with a pretty color and bright whites..
Genuine Risk (Ruffian mold) is Factory Mint with soft highlights and bright whites.
Winning Colors (Silky Sullivan mold) is Factory Mint with a beautiful iron grey coat with soft highlights and bright whites.
The set even comes with their original COA that includes bios for all three winning mares. This particular set has beautiful coloring, with nice differences in the chestnut color between Regret and Genuine Risk, which are often colored similarly. You'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer set anywhere!
