Postcards: Chincoteague Pony Farm - Misty and more!
Here's something you don't find every day: Beautiful, vintage, full-color postcards from one of the most famous horse-related places in the world! Misty of Chincoteague lived at the Chincoteague Pony Farm, as did many of her descendants. They received thousands of visitors every year, including Eleda and her family in 1985 and 1987. Those lucky horse lovers who got to visit the Pony Farm fondly remember spending time with the Misty family ponies, and with the Falabella Miniature Horses who also lived there. Every afternoon, the ponies and Minis put on a show for visitors in their little ring, and the lucky kids who got chosen to participate will never forget it!
This set of three postcards are circa the 1970s and are 5.25" x 6.75" each. Printed in full color on heavy card stock, the photo resolution was great for the time, and the back of each card tells about the ponies on the front.
The first postcard features Misty in a photo taken by a teacher when Misty went on tour following the success of her book and movie.
Next we have a postcard showing the Misty Family Ponies Windy (Stormy's daughter), Sunshine and Cyclone
Finally, included is a postcard featuring Pitt, one of the first Leopard Appaloosa Falabella Miniatures Horses ever imported into the US. Pitt was one of the stars of the show, with a personality that matched his colorful coat.
They will be shipped in a padded envelope for protection. These are great collectible souvenirs of a very special place and some of the most beloved ponies in the world.
