Refrigerator - Champion Quarter Horse -Breyer Porcelain (Sale supports Harvest Hills Animal Shelter)
Refrigerator (named for a famous football player's nickname) was a champion QH racehorse. Jockeyed by Kip Diderickson, Refrigerator became Quarter Horse racing's highest earning horse and the first whose winnings topped two million dollars. He won 22 of his 36 races and retired from racing in 1995. The young stallion made many appearances at fairs and events following his retirement, then began training to compete for Supreme Stallion events. A tragic accident during training claimed his life, and his heartbroken owners started a program in his memory to raise funds to study and heal equine traumatic injuries, a beautiful legacy for an amazing stallion.
Breyer honored Refrigerator with this very first portrait model in their series of Quarter Horse Hall of Famers. This Breyer Gallery Porcelain was only available in 1999.
He is in Factory Mint condition, straight out of his box from Breyer. He even comes with Breyer's original shipping carton to protect his box. He features a beautifully detailed paint job, which includes not only body shading on the horse, but the insignia on his mask, metallic silver stripes on the jockey's silks, and a crest bearing his name on the saddle blanket. We did not photograph a COA with this model, so it is either not included, or it may be hiding under the foam in the box.
This model was donated to our charity account for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, and proceeds from its sale will help the shelter care for dogs and kitties in need. Thanks for your support!
