This pair is from the very first year of the Vintage Club! The sweet Running Mare and Foal wore vintage-style black pinto markings reminiscent of the old, stenciled markings, which often had overspray "shading" around the edges. The sported airbrushed socks and bald faces as well, with muzzle pinking. A high-gloss finish, like some of Breyer's earliest models, topped all of this off, and they were each given a VC blue ribbon sticker. Only 500 sets were made and they're really hard to find today!
This pair is Near Mint and marked down only for mild yellowing, which you can reverse by sunbathing them for a week or so. Interestingly, both of them have areas in their white markings that are not yellowed, but are more of a light grey. These areas may blend in when they get brightened up, but they're interesting to note. Both include silver glitter in their gloss-coats and both wear their original VC blue ribbon stickers. They even come with their original COA, designating them #144/500.
