Stud Spider, Overo Paint
Here's an interesting fellow for variation collectors! #88, the Overo Paint on Stud Spider, has three different known patterns. This fellow represents the earliest of them, made, we believe, only in 1979. The other two patterns seem to have appeared in 1980. On his right side, he has a smaller neck marking, three small, distinct withers markings, and no spot at the top of his forelegs.
This fellow is in Very Good condition and probably the best-displaying horse we've ever given that rating. He shows a tiny rub on his left hindquarter and one on his right shoulder, plus a few pinpoint rubs. He has a couple of specks of mane paint on his face. He has had rubs touched up long ago with an airbrush, so the touch-ups blend decently, although they're a shade darker than his body color. That's the primary reason for his markdown from Excellent condition. He is the early "3-spot" version with three distinct white spots on his right withers area. His markings have soft edges.
