The Tennessee Walking Horse debuted in 1972 as a portrait of the famous stallion Midnight Sun. This handsome red bay was the second release on the mold, and was only available in 1988 and 1989. He features black legs and a solid face, with red-on-white ribbons.
This fellow is a shrinky and had a small wet area on his barrel when we unwrapped him. He's been wiped down, but it may reoccur while he's waiting to be adopted here. He shows no deformation, but his left hind leg is bent up slightly, as often happens with this mold over time, so he does not stand without a prop. Condition-wise, he's Near Mint, with just one tiny eartip rub and a tiny black mark on his right rump which could be tail paint. He features soft highlights which add a lot of depth to his coloring, and is one of the prettiest we've seen on this release. We recommend always displaying him on an open air shelf. Like all models on this mold, he needs help to stand. Museum Putty works great!
