Tennessee Walking Horse, Ebony Woodcut
This is Hartland's original version of their 9" Series Tennessee Walker, made in 1964-1965 only, with the mane on the left side of his neck. This model was specially designed to appear to be made of wood: The original metal sculpture was tooled with engraving implements to create woodgraining features right in the sculpture, which was then molded in plastic. These "Woodcuts" were available in several wood colors for a short time. This fellow, who appears black, is the Ebony release. He features the blue-grey highlights unique to this release. This is one of the hardest-to-find early hartlands, and we were very lucky to receive him!
He is Near Mint with a pinpoint rib on his left stifle and a few pinpoint white specks on his right side. He wears two foot pads on his flat feet and stands well.
Size: 9" Series (Hartland designation; not actual height)
