Trotting Drafter ~ Christian Soldier w/ Purple Sash (120 Made)
Christian Soldier was a Special Run designed by Elaine Stone and Ginger Ryals for Easter in 2000. Representing the Christian religious significance of Easter, this light grey fellow wears gold bobs painted with purple crosses. According to documentation at the time of release, he wears a shimmering coat and blue eyes to signify purity, bears a cross on his forehead, and came with a purple sash draped around his chest and hanging down his left side as a reminder of the purple robe Jesus was given while on trial. 60 were painted with straight crosses, then the following 120 were given crosses with flared edges, more in the European (think Knights Templar) style.
This fellow is Factory Mint with a couple tiny flaws: a couple of specks in his finish mainly on his right shoulder. They appear to be gold ribbon paint. He features the tiniest, most delicate dapples, a grey shaded face, and a broad Christian cross on his face. He even comes with the hard-to-find purple sash that originally was sold with him.
