Most people don't realize that Breyer began making tack and accessories for their models as early at 1972.  We're not counting the molded plastic tack that came with Western Horses, etc., but tack sold by itself, scaled to fit most of their Traditional series models.  This saddle is an example of one of Breyer's earliest tack items.

This Breyer saddle was made from 1972-1978.  It is made of genuine, thick leather with attention to all the details people had in their real saddles:  Metal front and rear cinch rings, D-rings for accessories, floral tooling, tapaderos over the stirrups, a metal horn, and even woven latigo straps.

This saddle is in Near Mint condition with all its parts in clean, working order and no rubs, marks, or other issues seen.  It's marked down only because the latigos have curled from being dry for so long… A tiny touch of leather-safe oil would relax them, but it displays just fine as it is.  These were made in a range of finishes, and many have darkened with time, but this one is the lightest, brightest we've seen.  What a beautiful piece of Breyer history!
