A favorite among collectors since his introduction, he remains one of Breyer's most popular coat patterns. The first model to incorporate both resist dapples and masked spots, this fellow paved the way for the models of the 2000s. He was a pioneer of his time, only made from 1974-1980. The earliest models, made at the end of the Oil Embargoes, were basecoat chalkies, with painted whites. They are especially sought after, because their chalky whites usually don't yellow, and they make the coat color really pop.
This fellow is in Excellent to Near Mint condition, with mild age yellowing of his painted coat. (I know, we usually say basecoat chalkies don't yellow, but he has begun to.) He has some brown marks around the bottom of his hooves, which matches the brown on the bottom of his hooves from the Breyer drying racks, so I believe it's original. He is one of the lightest I've seen with a cool-tone coloring that makes his mane stand out, softly stiped hooves, charcoal-shaded inner ears, and a big dapple on the back of his left ear which is adorable. He comes from Eleda's personal collection and will include a collection card for provenance.
