Chris Hess's iconic Five Gaiter mold was made in this bold chestnut from 1963 to 1986. He features a honey-colored body and a mane and tail so dark, he's nearly a bay. He wears an airbrushed bald face, four socks, and white ribbons with red X's on them.
This fellow is Near Mint and a lovely, very early fellow! He is marked down for just tiny eartip and hoof edge rubs! That said, he has the usual paint work of the mid 1960s, so you'll see some pinpoint specks, missed spots, and airbrush splutter, but he is really a beautiful example of a model from this time, and one that was painted with care. She features a light coat with speckles and highlights, an opaque brown mane and tail, some of the best painted ribbons I've seen, and hand-painted eye whites. All of this comes with a satin finish that brings out all of these details nicely. No USA mark, but he carries the engraved C Hess signature.
