This pair of horses and riders comes from Eleda's collection.  I found them on the windowsill of an antiques shop in the 1980s, and they have been part of my collection since then.  They are mismatched, but are still great examples of 1960s Hartland mini horse and rider sets.  The fellow in the white shirt and green jeans is Wyatt Earp.  The chestnut horse is actually his, and is named Tombstone.  The rider in the blue vest and blue jeans is tv's Lucas McCain "The Rifleman."  He seems to have sold his original horse and bought this cream-colored one instead.  The cream horse originally would have come with either "Cheyenne, Western Rider."   The 5" hores and rider sets are far harder to find these days than the larger ones.

I don't know why I swapped the riders in the photos... It's hard to find images of complete sets (even in the Fitch book), so it's likely they have been riding the opposite horses since I got them.

Wyatt Earp and Tombstone:  Excellent condition with some tiny rubs, and the horse has some dull, scuffed areas on his hindquarters.  This is a very hard set to find and they display well.

Rifleman and cream-colored mount:  Very Good to Excellent condition with paint loss on the rider's head being the worst.  There are a few other rubs, and a little scuff on the horse's right hindquarter, and the horse's seams are slightly misaligned on the front, not unusual for that period.

This is a nice display set, even with the mismatched cream horse, and great examples of 1960s Hartland mini sets.
