Back when getting mail was common, a stylish letter opener would neatly open your envelope with style. This collection of four horse letter openers includes:
1) A rare injection-molded imitation wood piece with horse head on one side and sunflower on the other, with a stainless steel blade. It was made by Syroco Ornamental Company, which was based in Syracuse, NY, from 1890-2007. This piece is likely from the 1950s-1960s.
2) Vintage rearing horse that may be silver-plated (?) with one-piece blade. Partial "Italy" stamp on one side of blade
3) solid brass horse head with bridle - no maker's mark, in blue velvet case (some tarnishing on head)
What a cool group of vintage horse-themed items for your collection!
