Misty II was the granddaughter of the famous Misty of Chincoteague, and was named for her because she carried a similar color and disposition. She was the fifth daughter of Stormy, born in 1974. She went on to become a wonderful ambassador for the Misty family and Chincoteague Ponies in general, as her owners Keith and Kendy Allen took her all around, telling the Misty story. She loved children and enjoyed standing on her stepstool, just like her granddam, shaking hands and greeting kids and adults alike. Black Mist was her sixth foal and Misty's May Day Twister was her seventh. Misty II had just given birth to Twister shortly before Breyerfest 1991, and they attended the event in York, PA, to the delight of everyone who went, including Eleda!
Breyer honored this special Chincoteague ambassador with a portrait model in a set that included her and two of her fillies (Black Mist and Misty's May Day Twister). It depicts Black Mist as a yearling and Twister as a young foal. The set was only made from 1996-1999.
This pretty girl is Near Mint with just mild age yellowing, which you can reverse with a few days of sunbathing. She features very soft chestnut shading in her mane and tail, as well as muzzle and inner ear shading and just a bit of muzzle pinking.
Her foal Twister is available separately until sold.
