Collectors used to seeing matching family sets were puzzled when Breyer released a Stock Horse Stallion in black pinto, but released the mare and foal in bay pinto. This was remedied when JC Penney offered the "missing" mare and foal as a Special Run set for the holidays in 1984-1985. They are almost impossible to find nowadays.
This sweet mare is Near Mint with only tiny hoof edge rubs and very slight age yellowing! She has a pinpoint speck in the plastic on her right shoulder and some stencil slips that add extra shape to her markings. She features soft muzzle pinking and nostril shading.
