This is a custom painted Carrot Top resin mule sculpted by Grace Newhouse (Rocking C Studios) in 2001. Just over 50 were made before the mold wore out, per his sculptor. When he was released (as whiteware), he was priced at $250 and sold out within 24 hours!
We don't know who painted "Chubby," which was his show name, but he is a gorgeous seal bay blanket Appaloosa in full bray. This gorgeous custom resin mule has so much character, he almost jumps right out of the photos! He comes with lots of accessories for creating a diorama for show or display. He wears a gorgeous, artist-made pack saddle with breeching and breast collar, including two saddle pads. It appears to be made specifically for him, and while realistic, is not easily removable. He arrived with it on, and appears safe to continue wearing it, so he will. He also wears a mule halter with attached rope lead.
He's employed by a miner, so picture him hobbled near the campfire at night, with mining tools, a lantern, wash tub, and more. As the miner dozes off, Chubby suddenly smells some unwelcome guests approaching and gives a loud bray to warn his human, as two adorable skunks wander into camp. But that's not all! In addition to this magnificent resin, custom tack, and accessories, he comes in a specially designed metal carry case with foam cutouts to keep him and all his accoutrements safe (a $60 value itself!). This guy is ready to wow everyone at every show you go to! He comes from the collection of Linda Dean.
This fellow in his case weighs over 7 pounds and will require an 18" long box, so postage will calculate accordingly. He will ship with full insurance.
