This gentle fellow is one of Chris Hess's most iconic sculpts. The Old Timer rests with one foot cocked after his day's work is done, waiting to be unharnessed. The dapple grey color on this mold was produced from 1966-1987, but saw changes over the years, including harness color, size of dapples, and finishes. Early models were glossy, while later ones were made in semi-gloss or matte finishes.
This fellow is in Near Mint with the usual specks in his gloss and such that we see in these sweet old fellows. He has a dirty seam on his left hind leg that appears to be under the gloss and mild age yellowing. There's a bit of adhesive on his right shoulder from where he used to wear a blue ribbon sticker. With that out of the way, this guy is such a cool fellow! He sports some of the biggest dapples I'd ever seen. He is pre-1970, with no USA mark, and his blinders straps are not colored in. He wears a charcoal (super dark brown/nearly black) harness and his gold hardware is still bright. He comes from Eleda's herd and will include a collection card for provenance.
