American-bred Native Diver (grandson of Triple Crown winner Count Fleet) was only the second horse to win stakes races at six different California racetracks.  Known as the California Comet, he set six track records and continued racing into his 8-year-old year!  He won the Hollywood Gold Cup three times, each time faster than the time before.

Breyer honored Native Diver with this portrait model on the Phar Lap mold in 1995-1996.  It shows off his black coat (it's reported he was actually a brown, but his coat looked black to spectators, earning him the nickname "The Black Horse" so Breyer's paint job isn't far off), right hind sock, and cool star and stripe that are shaped like an arrow.

This fellow is Near Mint with one tiny rub on his right stifle and another on his right forearm.   Both would be easy to touch up.   He has a slightly bent inward right foreleg, but stands fine.  You could correct it with a warm hair dryer if you like.  He features bright whites and a neat, arrow-shaped stripe.
