With so much going on right now between Breyerfest and projects we're working on behind the scenes here, it seems like the perfect time to start a blog to keep you all informed.
We stayed home from Breyerfest this year (more on why in a moment) but we have a few Special Run models heading this way, including two unopened Surprise models, so watch for those to become available for sale in a week or so. It looks like a great time was had by all at Breyerfest! We're enjoying seeing everyone's pictures... If you have a selfie from Breyerfest, feel free to post it on our website. Costume contest and diorama entry photos are welcome, too!
The reason we missed out on the action in Kentucky this year is that we're in the middle of expanding! We'll still be your trusted source for vintage Breyers, but soon you'll also be able to buy new Breyers, CollectA horse models, horse t-shirts and jewelry here as well! We're super-excited, as you might imagine.
One great feature of this expansion is that we're opening a physical store, too! We've been online-only since we opened in 2012, but now if you happen to be traveling to Western Maine, you'll be able to stop in and visit with us in person! In true thrifty-Yankee style, we're re-purposing an existing building into a shop. There's a lovely old camp on our property, way out in the woods, that's been here since long before us. We'll be moving it up to the road, cleaning it up, and filling it with ponies. It's quite a project, though: Moving it involves widening half a mile of dirt road so the building can pass between the trees, then finding a brave-hearted team of movers to lift it onto a trailer and pull it down the road with a bulldozer. If I'm able to get pictures, I'll be sure to post them! It's guaranteed to be an adventure.
If all goes well, we hope to have our physical store open by September First (weekends only) and new models available online about the same time. Just in time for the holidays, you'll be able to get new models along with your retired favorites!
