The G1 Draft Horse was featured in a Special Edition set for "Just About Horses" subscribers in 2004. The Stablemate Mini Fanfare Set set included four Saddlebreds - One in each of the 1964 decorator colors - and just one of the four special colors of decorator G1 Drafter. Only 1500 sets were made, and in order to acquire one, you had to first be a subscriber, then send in payment with a purchase application. Since so many applications were received every year for the Special Run, winners were usually chosen by lottery, making them highly sought-after, for sure. Because the drafter was divided into four colors, with only one per set, only 375 were made of each color, making them the most sought-after release on this mold ever, and one of the most valuable Stablemates ever made!
"Midnight Blue" is one of the earliest Breyer models to wear interference sheen - He has an icy blue coat with purple sheen and masked snowflakes, with silver hooves.
This fellow is Factory Mint with a little smudgy masking slip behind his left ear. He features tiny roan speckling, along with his snowflake pattern, nostril shading and lip-liner, and of course, that pretty pink-purple interference. He is arguably the prettiest of the four colors, and is nearly impossible to find, as the folks that have them never want to let them go.
