Back when getting mail was common, a stylish letter opener would neatly open your envelope with style. This collection of three horse letter openers includes:
1) One-piece, solid brass with vent hole under jaws, bridled horse head, perhaps supposed to be Native American or cavalry styling with arrow fletching engraved near top of blade,
2) Elegant, antique piece that appears to be made from pressed wood, stained cherry,
3) 1978 Chrome-plated pewter piece by Metzke Pewter (respected American brand from Tallahassee, Florida, 1963-1997) featuring a relief of a horse weather vane in a scalloped frame with polished blade, in a blue velvet case. It has a small area of missing chrome on the frame.
What a cool group of antique and vintage horse-themed items for your collection!
