One of Breyer's most recognizable pieces, it's hard to believe the original Pegasus release was so short: He was only made from 1984-1987. The Classic Lipizzaner mold was modified to hold removable wings for this release. The horse wears a white coat, white wings, looking every bit the magical creature he is.
This fellow is Near Mint with a few pinpoint specks and slight age yellowing on his left side. It's very slight, and his right side is so bright that he looks like he was born yesterday! He has a tiny area of whiter plastic above his left nostril and another area between his wing holes on his back. He features pale buff hooves and muzzle and bright white wings. He is overall the best example of this release we've ever had.
As a bonus, he's signed by Peter Stone, dated 6-29-87. We've seen a LOT of models signed by Peter through the years, but I've never seen (or even heard of) another signed Pegasus model. He signed him down one hind leg, which is also unusual, making this guy a really special piece.
This model was donated to our charity account for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, and proceeds from its sale will help the shelter care for dogs and kitties in need. Thanks for your support!
