Morgan, Lavender and Pink - 1985 Riegseckers SR - RARE!

This is an extremely hard to find subset of a hard-to-find Special Run!  In 1985, Riegseckers was commissioned by Breyer to help produce a Special Run of carousel horses for the 1985 JC Penney Holiday Catalog.  It's unknown whether they were painted by Breyer or by Riegseckers, but Riegseckers added a brass pole, tack, and wooden base to the ones sent to JC Penney.  Some additional models were given tack but no pole, while others were sold as horse-only.  These non-carousel versions were sold at Riegseckers own store in Indiana, making them an even harder-to-acquire version of this scarce run.  They sport a lavender-grey coat and pink mane, tail, and hooves.  You almost NEVER see these for sale these days, and having one is something of a status symbol in the community!

This cool fellow is Near Mint, marked down only for a few tiny, faint grey marks, which will probably come off with a gentle bath.  According to Nancy Young's book, when the Riegseckers sold them at their store, they were heaped in a barrel (!), so it's likely the marks from pre-purchase.  He has been well cared-for and his pinks are as bright as the day he was born.
