A view of one area showing the total devastation Dorian wrought. It was the strongest storm ever to make landfall on the islands.
Hi Folks,
As most of you know, we believe business should help others whenever possible. In addition to our ongoing support of the local animal shelter, we have in the past raised money for relief following Hurricane Harvey. Given the near total devastation experienced in the Bahamas from Hurricane Dorian, and lack of resources in that country to provide even food and shelter for their people, since their infrastructure was totally destroyed, we've decided to join hands with Pledgling to help.
Pledgling is an organization that allows businesses to set up fundraising and then insures those funds are distributed to the charities as promised. They have created a special fund for assistance to the Bahamas, which splits donations evenly between three organizations that are leading impactful disaster response programs in the ravaged communities of the Bahamas.
Team Rubicon mobilizes veterans across the United States in disaster areas. They just deployed a team of veterans to assess and provide aid to Abaco Island, where the majority of the destruction occurred.
Renowned chef, José Andrés, is deploying needed food to Abaco Island and Grand Bahama Islands which were hit hardest by the hurricane. So far, they have provided over 15,000 meals to residents in the area, with the goal of serving 30,000 meals daily. U.N officials say more than 60,000 people on the islands will need food, so World Central Kitchen is doing extremely meaningful and important work.
Americares is doing a matching campaign to double the donations it receives. They are sending aid and supplies to the Bahamas where the Hurricane affected communities the most.
Triple Mountain will be donating 10% of all sales for the next two weeks to these organizations through Pledgling.
If you'd like to help but aren't buying models right now, you may donate directly by texting “DORIAN” to 707070 and then clicking the link that comes up.
We know other areas were also hard-hit by this storm, and that other storms and disasters will continue to arise, but this is a case of total crisis, where human and animal lives will continue to be lost due to lack of food, shelter, or means of being moved to a safer location. As citizens of this amazing world, we feel it is our duty to help in this situation, and hope you will support this and other efforts to help wherever and whenever you are able.
We'll be showing you just how much we're raising in real time. At the bottom of each webpage you can view a banner showing how much money Triple Mountain is donating so far. Your purchases can make that number climb!
