Dale Evans, Queen of the West, rode a gorgeous pale dun called Buttermilk in her movies and the Roy Rogers tv series. Hartland made a portrait of Buttermilk from 1955 - 1960 on their "Chubby Horse" mold. The portrait model's earliest release included Dale dressed all in green with unpainted features, which was only made from 1955-1957.
Horse is Near Mint with a few pinpoint specks and possibly mild age yellowing, but the real Buttermilk was ivory colored, and I received her this color, so it's quite possible they were molded in this ivory color. The photo in Gail Fitch's reference book states the horse is white, but shows a horse this same color. Her painted breast collar and bridle appear to have 100% of their paint and the bead reins still have some shine. Dale has unpainted facial features and some marks on the "skin" of her legs, but no other rubs or marks, so those are likely factory. The saddle appears Factory Mint with silver accents and some overspray on the underside. This is a great set in really good condition - The only thing missing is Dale's hat. This set was part of Eleda's personal herd and will come with a collection card for provenance.
