The respected Karen Grimm of Black Horse Ranch created her own line of sculptures in 1:9 scale, including this sweet Quarter Horse Hunter. Her models were produced in China in a resin/porcelain mixture that makes them very heavy and solid, yet fragile. Each release was limited in quantity, and since Karen sadly passed away a few years ago, there will be no more made. There were around 1300 of the Hunter model produced, but those were split out into five colors, so there are likely fewer than 300 buckskin in the world (though there is no recorded breakdown by color).
This fellow is Near Mint with two very tiny rubs on her left hindquarter. He features soft shading and neatly painted eyes. He even comes in his original Black Horse Ranch box with shaped Styrofoam insert. He comes from the collection of Linda Dean. As with all the BHR resins, he's a solid, heavy boy, so shipping will reflect his weight of almost 5 pounds.
