One of the most famous grey racehorses of all time, Spectacular Bid won the first two legs of the Triple Crown and led most of the way through the third race at Belmont, before being overtaken and finishing second. This was after his groom discovered he had stepped on a safety pin and gotten it lodged in his hoof. (It was removed and didn't bother him that day, but later he had to be treated when the wound got infected.) In his four-year-old season, he was undefeated in his nine races, setting track records during five of them! He was then retired to stud at Claiborne Farm, where he and Secretariat became friends and sometimes raced each other in their neighboring paddocks.

Breyer honored this gorgeous stallion with a portrait model on the Man O' War mold in his mature, fleabitten grey color. (He was much darker when he was racing.) He was a single-year release in 2006.
This fellow is Near Mint with only slight age yellowing, which you can reverse with a few days of sunbathing, and a small area on his left barrel that has a faint blue tint from the way his blanket was put over him by Breyer. It's faint enough that you have to look for it to notice. He features lots of grey body shading along with tons of fleabites, giving him lots of color depth. His blanket is Factory Mint, probably wrapped and tucked away when the set was first purchased.
