Sergio Valente was a fashion denim clothing brand in the 1970s - 1990s. Promoting Western styling, the brand offered a few horse / horse and rider sets in the 1980s. This is the very first edition of the Sergio Valente horse, from 1980-1981ish. In 1982, they debuted a new version with a head that also was articulated. He was called Sunshine (I believe -- I think it was on the package, though I could have just decided he looked like a Sunshine), and sported articulated legs, with an open mouth for his bit. He was originally sold with a rubber Western saddle and bridle. These horses are almost impossible to find today.
This fellow is in Very Good condition. His shoulders have been glued in place because they got too loose to allow him to stand. His other joints are loose, as well… He'll stand for a short time, or he can be displayed sitting for safety. He has a few marks and rubs. He was part of Eleda's childhood herd, and will come with a collection card for provenance. I got him new from the store in a tan Sergio Valente box (no longer with him).
