Chris Hess sculpted the Tennessee Walking Horse mold that was originally released as a portrait of this famous stallion. Even though Breyer's sculpt depicts him with a "Big Lick" stride, that is a trend that didn't develop until after his time, and Midnight Sun was actually shown in standard keg shoes. The portrait model was made from 1972-1987.
This fellow is in Excellent condition with a scattering of pinpoint rubs and marks. Someone has painted the bottoms (only) of his grounded hooves with metallic purple paint. It's not visible on display. He features neatly painted ribbons, and he even stands well, unlike most of his brothers, but we still strongly suggest Museum Putty or a Horse Safety Rack to keep him safely upright.
This model was donated to our charity account for Harvest Hills Animal Shelter, and proceeds from its sale will help the shelter care for dogs and kitties in need. Thanks for your support!
