Jamaica's story will win your heart. Trained for driving, this Dutch Warmblood became one of the most respected dressage driving and marathon driving horses in the world. He and was named Horse of the Year by the USEF in 2008. The most famous member of Chester Weber's four-in-hand team, Jamaica helped win six US National Championships, two FEI WEG medals, and four world championships. But what makes this horse so well-remembered out of a team of four? He nearly didn't get a chance to show his star quality - As a youngster he was sold to a slaughterhouse! He was rescued by a man who ran tourist carriages... but he refused to stand patiently, and almost lost his second chance, until he was discovered by Weber, who saw his determination and courage as key elements in a competitive driving horse. Upon hearing his story, he quickly became a crowd favorite, and a celebrity everywhere he went.
Breyer honored Jamaica with a portrait model on the Trakehner mold as a Special Run for The World Equestrian Games in 2010. It sports Jamaica's cute star and pink snip. Only 500 were made.
This fellow is Near Mint with one pinpoint rub and one pinpoint light rub on his right elbow area. He also shows mild age yellowing in his socks, which you can brighten back up with a few days of sunbathing. His star is bright white. He features a high satin finish with a glossy mane, tail, and leg shading, and a soft pink snip.
