Andalusian Stallion ~ Cloud from Cloud's Legacy Set - FACTORY ODDITY?

Cloud was a real-life Mustang documented in the Cloud series on PBS. Several Breyer sets (and singles) were produced to support the Cloud Foundation's efforts to preserve and protect Mustangs like Cloud. This lovely portrait on the Andalusian Stallion mold was only sold as part of the Cloud's Legacy Set from 2007-2014.
He is hard to rate, as he's painted oddly. First, strictly talking about damage, he has one tiny rub on his left barrel and several tiny rubs or unpainted spots under his belly. Now, onto the oddity: He has three separate colors airbrushed onto him, and they don't come off with rubbing from a wet cloth, as I'd expect if he'd been touched up. Additionally, the herd he comes from is from a reputable collector who has only OF models, most in Near Mint condition, leading me to believe this is a factory oddity. Most of him is the typical pale palomino color we normally see on this release. However, on his left flank area, there's a painted highlight area of a lighter color, and on his back is a warmer-toned area. Both blend well and appear to be under his matte finish, but since we haven't had him "since birth" I can't guarantee it. To me, he looks like a potential factory cull (or should have been a cull) because it appears they ran out of paint while working on him, and when they reloaded the airbrush, it wasn't mixed exactly the same way. Perhaps they saw the lighter color, realized it was wrong, and added more warm tone before doing his back. His back almost has a pinkish hue. It certainly makes him an interesting fellow, and possibly one of a kind. He features chestnut shading on his knees and pretty face shading. We're pricing him low because we can't prove he's factory, even though we believe he's a factory oddity / cull.
