Foundation Appaloosa stallion Chief of Fourmile was a star wherever he went.  He was the first three-time Appaloosa National Performance Horse Champion.  Born in 1952, he carried the original Appy genes for color and for the sparse tail they used to be known for.  As a result, Breyer's tribute model to Chief represents his build very well!  The Washington-bred Appy was black with a white blanket, and showed in Western performance classes.  The photo here shows him in Native American costume.  He sired over a hundred foals and can be found in the pedigrees of many modern Appies.

Breyer's portrait model was the 1999 Commemorative Edition, limited to that  year's production.  Only 10,000 were made and they were hand-numbered under their bellies.  A lapel pin of Chief was also made and attached to the box.

This fellow is with pin: Near Mint with no rubs or marks seen, marked down only for just slight age yellowing.  He features lovely, speckly highlights (which is why I chose him for my herd) with mapping around his spots.   He is #8662/10,000.  He even comes with his lapel pin and hang tag!  Where'd the rest of his photos go?  No idea... He may have eaten them.

He is from Eleda's personal collection, and will come with a collection card for provenance. I have hit max capacity in my herd, so a few select models will be offered for sale.
