Brenda Breyer w/ Western Prancer Paper Doll - Dealer Sample
Now here's something you don't see every day: A very early package for the Brenda Breyer rider, produced by Unger Toys for Breyer. It includes a two-sided cardboard paper doll of Brenda's palomino Western Prancer, Cheyenne. This is such an extraordinarily rare piece of ephemera, that most collectors will never see one!
You may remember this package being offered previously without a rider. Recently a wire-core rider arrived who was produced very early, and we believe she is the right style to have originally come with this package, so we've married them together and are making the set available. Now this is an incredible piece for your collection or Collector's Class! The package plastic was opened at the top decades ago when a previous owner removed the original doll. The plastic has, of course, yellowed over time and is starting to feel brittle. It includes the cardboard "paper doll" of the Breyer palomino Western Prancer Cheyenne that is two-sided with tabs to glue the sides together. It had never been used or even out of the package until we photographed it! The side that was facing out has faded a little with time, but the back side is pristine! The rider is Near Mint with a slight darkening of the rubber on her face from age. The back of the package includes wording aimed at retailers rather then collectors, indicating it is indeed a salesman's sample. I wouldn't hesitate to include this in a display or Collector's Class entry, because most people will have never seen one!
This is truly a piece fit for top-level collectors and could become a centerpiece for your rarity collection.
