Western Horse, Black Pinto w/ Saddle
Western Horse, Black Pinto w/ Saddle
Low stock: 1 left
Breyer's Western Horse was available in black pinto only from 1954-1973. Being so long retired, finding one in good condition for your collection can be a challenge. He wears rounded white pinto markings in the same pattern that he shares with the chestnut pinto release, four socks, white mane, black tail with a white tip, and airbrushed bald face. They saw some changes during their run, mainly to their saddles, which went from high-rivet snap saddles to low-rivet snap saddles, to slip-on saddles, during their time. When a saddle is present, it can help date the model.
This guy is in Excellent to Near Mint condition with the usual overspray, a tiny masking slip at the bottom of his right rump marking, and a tiny 1/4" scratch on his left barrel, and pinpoint eartip and forelock rubs. He shows mild yellowing which you can reverse by sunbathing him for a few days, making him bright again. The gold accents on his molded-on tack are about 90% intact and he comes with his original chain reins. No mold mark.
His saddle arrived here later, so we photographed it separately; it will be sent with him. It is a grey-shaded slip-on saddle, in Near Mint condition. It has been off the horse for a while, so you may need to heat the rear fenders to gently open them a bit wider to make it slide on easily.
