It's officially the hottest part of summer, and many places around the US and the world are experiencing heat waves. We recommend that you consider the temperatures when deciding to have models shipped this time of year. Models can be damaged by extreme temperatures, such as those they may encounter on box trucks and airport tarmacs during transport. Did you know that an airport tarmac (the asphalt where the cargo sits on carts waiting to be loaded and unloaded) has been measured at up to 172 degrees Farenheit (78C)?!? 70th Saddlebreds - Why So Pricey?

We all know the 70th Anniversary assortment models - and particularly the Saddlebred - have been hard to get so far this year. Breyer underestimated the demand, ran out in early February, and quickly put more into production in China. However, that was during the height of the pandemic in China, and everything was closed, from manufacturing, to warehousing, to transportation. It has taken until now (late June) for more to be produced, packed into shipping containers, and brought around the world on a freight ship. As of this writing, Breyer is just starting to straggle out a few cases...

I know many of you are wondering, so here's the latest update! We spoke with Breyer on Wednesday and the new "hopeful" ETA for the 70th anniversary models to arrive in NJ and start shipping to retailers is somewhere between the end of May and mid-June. This is obviously subject to change with everything going on in the world, but that's the latest, straight from the horse's mouth!
